Lymphatic Drainage and Dry Brushing

Basically, dry brushing is… pretty much just what it sounds like. You take a body brush (look for one with firm, natural bristles - we sell them in the office!) and use it to gently massage your body toward your major lymph nodes. This process brightens the skin and also makes your moisturizer more effective, as it sloughs off dead skin. Best to dry brush right before heading into the shower to wash the dead skin away. The lymphatic system is a complex network of tissues and organs that plays a pivotal role in immunity and overall well-being. Its chief function is to carry infection-fighting fluid containing white blood cells throughout the body. But as important as it is, the lymphatic system can get sluggish, whether from lack of movement or from accumulated cellular debris. That’s where dry brushing can help. It is a simple and effective technique for revving up your lymphatic system, which also decreases fluid retention, boosts circulation and aids in muscle fiber tonicity, giving skin a healthy glow.
